Zandri Basson's Story
Zandri started working with horses at a stable yard upon finishing school. She soon realized her passion for the wellbeing of animals & began her diploma in Animal Physiotherapy through The College of Animal Physiotherapy in the UK. She worked as a rehab assistant with Dr Monique Crouch while studying & gained invaluable experience & knowledge while helping with UWT & physiotherapy sessions. She now treats UWT & Physiotherapy patients for APR on Tuesdays & Fridays. Zandri likes challenging cases that teach her new skills & if a patient happens to look like a wolf or a collie, so much the better! She also has a calm, loving nature & strives to improve the wellbeing & comfort of any animal. Zandri loves seeing patients recover, overcome their anxiety & exceed expectations.
I have loved animals since I came into this world. On every holiday we had when I was a kid, I would somehow end up finding an animal and I would spend most of my time just being around them. Animals to me, are incredibly beautiful souls, never meaning any harm and they bring such joy into my life, I couldn’t even imagine a life without them. Which is why I have chosen the profession of animal physiotherapy.
It allows me to constantly be surrounded by these sweet souls and enables me to give back to them some of what they give to me, pure joy and happiness. It truely warms my heart to be able to contribute to their wellbeing and mobility, to relieve some of their struggles and make their recovery after injury or surgery as swift and painless as possible.
I naturally gravitate toward animals and helping them in whichever way I can, which is why I love my job. It has always been my dream to work with animals and rehabilitate them and I am so grateful for the opportunity to do just that.
